At AGL Marine, 2 Epifanes Color System machines are used to create a wide range of custom colors, with reliable reproducibility and perfect precision in every mix, for both single- and two-component lacquers.
Whether for a traditional or contemporary finish, this system is capable of producing mono-urethane, mono-Alkide-Bootlak and polyurethane lacquers in all the colors listed in a repertoire such as RAL, International Perfection, Awlgrip and Hempel. Lacquers can be satin or gloss.

Epifanes traditional lacquers and varnishes combine performance and aesthetics, offering long-lasting protection while enhancing the natural beauty of wood. Single- or two-component: which solution to choose?
- Single-component varnish:
Easy to apply, more tolerant of the existing substrate, and suitable for a wide range of temperatures during application. It offers theelasticity/flexibility needed to avoid cracking due to natural wood movements.
Not suitable for application on epoxy resin.
- Two-component varnish:
Harder and more durable, but more demanding in terms of application and conditions (air temperature and relative humidity).
Polyurethane varnish is well suited to stable wood constructions (i.e. marine plywood). Due to its limited elasticity/flexibility, it is less suitable for woodworking, as it is prone to cracking.
It adheres perfectly to well-prepared epoxy resin.
