What is Gloss Finish Primer?
Developed for superyachts and high-finish new units, Gloss Finish Primer is a two-in-one polyurethane primer solution. It combines a finishing primer and a show coat. It offers a high-gloss surface and fast drying times, enabling efficient sanding in preparation for topcoat application.
Designed exclusively as a finishing primer, it highlights any imperfections in the underlying primer or sealant, ensuring a smooth, flawless finish.
Gloss Finish Primer is available in gallon and quart sizes, and in three standard shades: white, grey and dark blue. Use with Awlcat 6 converter and pro-cure activator.

PRIMARY
Gloss Finish Primer is approved for application over primers* : High Build Primer, Awlfair Epoxy Surfacing Primer and 545 Epoxy Primer, making it a reliable component of the AWLGRIP coating system. *Prior to application, we recommend sanding the construction primer with a P180 to P240 grit abrasive.
Please note: this product is not intended for use as a topcoat, and must be overcoated to ensure optimum durability and protection.
TOPCOAT
Designed as an integral part of the Awlgrip system, Gloss Finish Primer is fully compatible with the brand's topcoats: Awlgrip HDT, Awlcraft SE, Awlcraft 3000 and Awlgrip Topcoat.
This compatibility guarantees optimum adhesion between coats. This is a key factor for professionals looking for a proven, complete and homogeneous system from primer to finish.

*We recommend sanding Gloss Finish Primer with P320 to P400 grit sandpaper.
👉🏼 High solids formulation for reduced emissions: Gloss Finish Primer is distinguished by its high solids formulation, containing fewer solvents and more useful matter. This composition results in a denser coat, reducing VOC emissions by up to 50% per m² compared with the application of a separate primer and finish. In addition to contributing to a durable, high-performance solution, it guarantees excellent coverage. * The VOC content of Gloss Finish Primer is 420 g/L of product.
*Direct reduction in emissions compared with the combination of Epoxy 545 primer and Awlgrip Topcoat finish.
